Statement on Auditing Standards (SAS) No. 70 is an internationally recognised auditing standard for Service Organisations developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). A SAS 70 audit represents that a service organisation has been through an in-depth audit of their control activities, which generally include controls over information technology and related processes. In today’s global economy, service organisations as well as service providers have to demonstrate adequate controls and safeguards are in place when hosting or processing data belonging to their customers.
The controls of arvato finance, applicable among others to payment processing, accounts receivable management and the operating environment, have been examined in accordance with the SAS 70 Type II standard. A Type II report not only includes the service organisation’s description of controls, but also include detailed testing of the service organisation’s controls over a minimum six month period and states the highest classification for SAS 70 reports.
Our key controls at the company and business unit level, master data administration, data collection and billing, creditor and debtor management, FX accounting, payment processing and booking, GL accounting and month end closing, as well as general IT have been audited.
