arvato UK & Ireland sponsors major BPO conferences

The arvato UK & Ireland group is sponsoring a series of BPO conferences within the first half of 2010 to increase its brand awareness in the UK and to develop new business relationships. All sponsored conferences are linked to shared services and outsourcing, and are among the most relevant shared services events in Europe.

The first event, the Shared Services & Outsourcing Summit (SSOS) took place from the   8th – 10th February 2010 in London. All divisions of the arvato UK and Ireland group were in attendance at this highly prestigious conference at Le Meridian Hotel in Piccadilly, London. This was the first of three BPO conferences throughout 2010 at which arvato is showcasing its “one-stop-shop” solution consisting of finance services, customer services, loyalty services, government services and logistics services.

At the SSOS the attending delegates from a wide range of Blue Chip client companies were rewarded by the high calibre of the contributors. The flexible format covering a range of topics within the “order to cash process” and ancillary and support services encouraged comprehensive dialogue and engagement between contributors and delegates. arvato’s commitment to the success of the SSOS was demonstrated by the company chairing the outsourcing stream on both conference days.

In addition to the above, arvato’s HR Director Steve Allinson provided a very well received presentation entitled “Creating Value in HR Through Shared Services.” Steve’s presentation demonstrated arvato’s view of the evolving world of outsourcing, and how arvato have embraced the challenges faced by Human Resources to support a business which consistently delivers excellence through systems, technology but most importantly people to a diverse and ever more demanding client base.

From an arvato finance perspective the SSOS conference was viewed as a great success, the format allowed for engagement with both clients and prospects in a structured and open forum. Presenters and delegates from the private sector namely Finance, Media, Energy Providers, and Transport, and also Public Sector covered a wide range of topics including customer acquisition, portfolio management, receivables management, billing early arrears management and collection.

Having sponsored the SSOS in February arvato is now looking forward to the other two BPO conferences taking place in May and June. From 24th – 27th May 2010 arvato is sponsoring the European Shared Services & Outsourcing Week (SSOW), that will take place in Edinburgh. At this conference Debra Maxwell, Global BPO Director at arvato will not only chair the outsourcing stream of the conference but also give a dedicated presentation titled “The R-evolution of Outsourcing – Higher Reward for Greater Risk”.

In June arvato will sponsor the Order-to-Cash Summit, taking place in London. This conference – with its focus on reducing DSO effectively, improving customer satisfaction and increasing cash flow – will introduce multiple strategies for simplifying and optimizing financial operations.
